Nirali Memorial Medical Trust (NMMT) was set up in memory of Mr. A.M. Naik’s granddaughter. The hospitals that the Trust has set up are emblems of excellence – equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and manned by dedicated teams of experienced doctors and nursing staff who identify totally with the Trust’s mission.
True to its Vision, the Trust endeavours to continuously augment its ability to eliminate uncertainties in diagnostics and treatments, promote comprehensive care, alleviate suffering and expedite recovery. The Trust is also conscious of its larger social obligations, to spread a message of hope to the needy and the disadvantaged.
Mr Naik has said that “while the inspiration for community service came from my father, the direction towards healthcare came from my grand-daughter, Nirali. In her brief two years, her smile and sparkle had won the adoration of all. When she passed away in 2007, my grief-stricken family and I turned our sorrow into a medical mission that would benefit thousands like her across the country.”
OUR INITIATIVES
At Navsari near Surat, Nirali Memorial Medical Trust is bringing to life a unique Centralised Healthcare Complex at one location (A M Naik Healthcare complex). The Complex located 45 km from Surat Airport and on the Mumbai – Delhi National Highway is spread across eight acres of land. The campus houses a cancer hospital, a multi-speciality hospital, accommodation for doctors and nursing staff and a residential section for associated staff. Everything is within reach, and easily accessible.
This multi-diagnostic centre has three operation theatres for general surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics, orthopaedics, and ENT. In addition, this day-care centre has an ophthalmology unit, a dialysis unit, pathological and investigative diagnostics, systems for Sonography, ECG/EED and TMT, and a pharmacy. The Centre is proving to be a boon to disadvantaged members of the community in Powai and sees a footfall of close to 400 patients every day.
The Centre has benefitted a large number of patients from Surat, south Gujarat and parts of Maharashtra. It is equipped with a wide range of advanced facilities to offer critical radiation treatment. Equipment includes two linear accelerators and CT scans and Brachytherapy systems. Imaging systems include PET CT, and CT and mammography. The Nirali centre also has an Operation Theatre. Modern types of radiation therapy including IGRT, IMRT and 3D brachytherapy are offered.
Since many needy patients come from outside Surat, the Centre offers accommodation facilities for accompanying family members.
The NMMT offers a wide range of healthcare services to the needy in South Gujarat. It has set up a wing at the Kharel General Hospital, Kharel. Named after Mr A.M. Naik’s grandfather, the Nichchhabhai Ratanji Naik Wing, has an OPD, a general ward and special wards for gynaecology and ophthalmology.
Geeta Gram is a colony with comfortable residential accommodation within the Kharel Hospital campus. This all allows doctors and associated medical staff to stay in proximity to their workplace. The Trust also runs health camps and provides professional assistance to hospitals in the Gandevi and Navsari regions.
