AMN Once Again Named India’s Most Generous Corporate Professional

L&T Group Chairman Mr AM Naik has been named India’s most generous corporate professional on the Edelgive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2022. He has earned the distinction for the third year in a row for his multifarious philanthropic activities and spending an impressive Rs 142 crore on this in FY 2021-22. Mr Naik is the only corporate professional to enter the Top 10 on this prestigious list.

Mr Naik’s philanthropy is sharply focused on three segments – healthcare, education and skill-building. The activities are carried out by the two Trusts that he set up in 2009 – the Nirali Memorial Medical Trust (in the memory of his two-year-old grand-daughter who succumbed to cancer) and the Naik Charitable Trust.

In June this year, Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi inaugurated the AM Naik Healthcare Complex and a state-of-the-art multispecialty hospital at Navsari, and a Centre of Excellence comprising a skill-building centre, primary, secondary and higher secondary schools at Kharel, in south Gujarat.

Then in September, Union Home Minister Mr Amit Shah inaugurated the sprawling AM Naik School at Powai in Mumbai.

The Hurun Report is the world’s largest compiler of ‘rich lists’ and the Edelgive Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Edelweiss Group. The Edelgive Hurun India Philanthropy List aims to chronicle the Indian philanthropy landscape.

Commenting on the latest recognition, Mr Naik said: “I’m humbled on being featured on this prestigious list. I believe, we all must have a heart to give back to society and oncewe do this, we get an inner satisfaction which is unmatchable.”
