120 School dropouts discover a new future as Office Assistants
The Office Assistantship Training Programme is now part of the bouquet of skilling programmes offered by the Anil Naik Technical Training Centre (ANTTC), Kharel. The Programme focusses on communication, organization, record-keeping, computer and basic accounting skills, helping rural youth find jobs and earn a livelihood.
Training is given to young men and women over a three- month period, encompassing theory, practical experience and soft skills – with an emphasis on hands-on training.
Till date, 120 youth have been trained as Office Assistants and 452 youth have complete a Digital Literacy Programme making them employable.
The Office Assistantship course is based the National Occupational Standards and has resulted in over 50 direct placements, with earnings ranging between Rs 6000 – 8000 per month.
